Ferry to Formentera and Es Vedra island, ghost-like in the distance. Es Vedra is thought to be the third most magnetic point on earth after the North Pole and the Bermuda triangle. The odd Es Vedra magnetic field affects electrical equipment, compasses and upsets birds’ sense of direction.

Ocean water combines with the lake water of Estany Pudent on Formentera. This area, with it’s underground freshwater springs, provides the greatest biodiversity for watching birds such as black-necked grebes, flamingos, storks and shelducks. Nearby is Ses Salines (the salt flats) that are very important in the recent history of the island because of the salt industry.
